Winter in Montana


This is the Yellowstone River which is frozen right now. You can't see it from this photo but there are huge blocks of ice pushing more huge blocks of ice up onto the river banks and piling on top of each other. I guess I have never gone down to the river at this time of year because I have never seen this before. It is amazing and beautiful.



These shots were taken at the Spring Creeks which do not freeze due to the fact that they are spring fed (hence the name). We actually saw two guys fly fishing when we were there. What is it about fly fishing that makes people so crazy! I was out of the truck for 5 minute intervals tops and could barely stand the bitter windy cold.

And finally, here is Eric in the hat I knit him for Christmas, humoring me before jumping back into the warmth of Rusty.
